Job Summary:
We are seeking a motivated and experienced Grants and Fundraising Consultant to play a pivotal role in securing foundational funding from donors that will enable us to achieve the objectives outlined in our five-year strategic plan (2023- 2027). The successful candidate will be responsible for identifying, cultivating, and soliciting grants from a range of foundations and donors, as well as managing the grant application and reporting process.
Key Responsibilities:
- Grant Identification and Research:
- Conduct in-depth research to identify potential donors, foundations, and grant opportunities aligned with KQ Hub Africa’s mission and strategic goals.
- Maintain a comprehensive database of potential funding sources and grant deadlines.
- Relationship Building:
- Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with potential donors, foundations, and funding organizations.
- Collaborate with the KQ Hub Africa team to engage donors and articulate the organization’s impact and funding needs.
- Proposal Development:
- Prepare compelling grant proposals and applications that effectively communicate KQ Hub Africa’s programs, impact, and funding requirements.
- Ensure all proposals are submitted in a timely manner and meet donor requirements.
- Grant Management:
- Oversee the grant management process, including grant reporting, compliance, and stewardship.
- Ensure accurate and timely reporting to donors, tracking progress, and outcomes.
- Budgeting and Financial Oversight:
- Work closely with the finance team to develop project budgets and financial reports for grant applications and reporting.
- Monitor grant budgets to ensure funds are utilized effectively and in compliance with donor requirements.
- Monitoring and Evaluation:
- Collaborate with program teams to gather data and information required for donor reporting and impact assessment.
- Support the organization in monitoring and evaluating the impact of funded projects.
- Fundraising Strategy:
- Contribute to the development and implementation of KQ Hub Africa’s fundraising strategy, including setting fundraising targets and strategies.
Qualifications:
- Proven track record in grant writing and fundraising for non-profit organizations, with a strong portfolio of successful grant applications.
- Excellent research skills to identify potential funding sources.
- Strong relationship-building and donor cultivation skills.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
- Detail-oriented and highly organized with the ability to meet deadlines.
- Knowledge of the East African funding landscape and familiarity with donor interests and priorities.
- Experience in budgeting and financial reporting for grant applications.
- Commitment to KQ Hub Africa’s mission and values.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a diverse team.
- Fluency in English is required.
